GLADSTONE, MO — May 4, 2025
Multiple residents in the Oaks and surrounding Gladstone neighborhoods are on alert after several sightings of a suspicious young man, reportedly seen running through yards and hiding in bushes during morning school bus times on Friday May 2.
The initial sighting occurred around 8:25 a.m. near 53rd Street and N Washington Street, where a man believed to be in his 20s, African American, wearing a black hoodie and a light-colored backpack, was seen darting through neighbors' yards and approaching porches. “He had longer hair, maybe dreads,” said the reporting resident. “We lost sight of him near some bushes. It was really unsettling with the school buses nearby.”
But others claim to have encountered the same man before. “He scared me one night when I was pulling in after work,” said another resident. “Same outfit, same backpack. He ran past my car and hid in the bushes. I turned my headlights on him and he ran to the trees. After I drove away and circled back—he was right back by my house.”

The Alleged Trespasser |
Other residents in nearby areas, including Davidson, have described encounters with an individual matching the same description. One woman recounted seeing the man lurking near her neighbor’s car before fleeing. Another reported a late-night scare when the man ran past her vehicle and hid in the bushes.
He may not have been committing any crime at all. Was he jumping fences? If so, that’s trespassing. But if there were no fences or “No Trespassing” signs posted, it might not technically count as trespassing. Merely crossing into someone's yard does not count as criminal trespass. Many of the yards in the oaks lack fences. Some claim this is another case of running while black.
However another source claims that the man has threatened to kill neighbors and many others stating that he is mentally unstable person recently released from the psych ward at NKC. Hospital. According to this source, he has many journals describing killing many people and many other disturbing things
Gladstone Police have been contacted via the non-emergency number. Residents are urged to remain vigilant, especially during school transit times. Anyone with security footage or additional sightings is encouraged to contact local authorities.
