Big Spray Company Ecoshield Facing Resident Backlash Over Pushy Sales Reps at Doors

Gladstone, MO — Residents of Gladstone have raised concerns about the conduct of sales representatives from bug spray company Echoshield. In recent months, several residents have taken to social media to complain  regarding representatives who allegedly disregarded "no trespassing" and "no soliciting" signs, knocking on doors as late as 9:30 PM. However These residents have found it hard to lodge complaints. The company, known for its nationwide operations, has faced criticism for routing local phone calls to international call centers including locations in India and Texas and failing to address the concerns of residents promptly.

The issue came to a head when a resident had a harrowing encounter with one of these representatives on their property. The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, recounted a disturbing incident that occurred a few nights ago. At approximately 9 PM, a sales representative from Echoshield entered their property, ignoring multiple signs indicating that solicitation was not welcome. The representative proceeded up the driveway and reached the resident's front door, only to be confronted by their two dogs. The resident managed to intervene and prevent any harm from befalling the salesperson, but expressed concerns about the potential for a more dangerous outcome.

Seeking resolution and accountability, the resident reached out to Echoshield's local office, only to discover that even local phone calls were being routed to national and international call centers.
However, the resident was eventually able to speak with the manager of the company's KCMO office after a lengthy process of explaining the incident to a phone operator. After persistent efforts, they finally managed to be transferred to the actual local office in Lenexa, Kansas. Once connected, they voiced their complaints and emphasized the potential risks associated with representatives approaching homes late at night, especially in a neighborhood with families, children, and elderly residents.

The resident also urged Echoshield's management to familiarize themselves with Gladstone, where other residents had shared similar accounts of sales representatives ignoring signs and approaching properties at inappropriate times. With the rising crime rates in Kansas City Metro Area, and the recent shooting of a young black male at the hands of an elderly white man just north of Gladstone, the resident argued that these actions put both the representatives and the residents at risk.
In response to the resident's concerns, the manager responsible for overseeing the representatives in the 64118 zip code area has pledged to address the matter thoroughly. They assured the resident that upon their return to work on Wednesday, immediate action would be taken to address the conduct of the sales team and ensure their safety as well as that of the residents.

Echoshield's local office can be reached at 913-308-6055. However, callers will be routed to a national number. To speak with a representative at the local office, callers are advised to press 2, followed by another 2 to be connected to a human operator who can then route them accordingly.

Echoshield has yet to release an official statement regarding the incidents. Concerned residents in the 64118 zip code may to use the provided contact information to voice their complaints and seek resolution directly from the local office.

As this issue continues to unfold, the community eagerly awaits the promised actions from Echoshield's management and hopes for a swift resolution that prioritizes the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
