Firey Car Crash in Gladstone

GLADSTONE, Mo. (Oct. 22, 2025) — Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 72nd Street and Olive Avenue around 4 p.m. Tue, after one of the cars briefly caught fire following the collision.

According to Gladstone police, both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage. Witnesses said the impact appeared to occur as one driver attempted to turn onto Olive, though the exact cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters from the Gladstone Fire Department arrived within minutes and quickly extinguished the flames before they could spread beyond the engine compartment.

“No one was trapped, and crews had the fire out within a few minutes,” said a department spokesperson. “Thankfully, there were no fatalities reported.”

At least one person was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries, but authorities have not confirmed whether anyone was transported to the hospital.

The intersection was temporarily closed as first responders cleared debris and conducted cleanup operations, reopening to traffic shortly after 5 p.m.

Police say the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
