Death of Patient Outside North Kansas City Hospital Under Investigation

NORTH KANSAS CITY — The death of a woman found outside North Kansas City Hospital during this weekend's blizzard has been confirmed as involving a patient of the facility, city officials announced Tuesday. It is unknown how she left the hospital.

The woman, identified as Loria Annette Fells, 63, of Kansas City, was discovered unresponsive outside a healthcare building on the hospital campus. The discovery was made by North Kansas City police and fire personnel around 9:45 a.m. Monday, according to information provided by Deputy City Administrator Kim Nakahodo.

Fells had been transported to the hospital by North Kansas City firefighters on Sunday at approximately 12:23 p.m. When her body was found the following day, no significant bodily trauma was reported.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding Fells’ death is being conducted by the North Kansas City Police Department. How she came to be outside the hospital and the potential impact of the blizzard are being examined as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Her death seems mysterious and incomprehensible. Jail time and a multi-million dollar lawsuit also seems relevant?

I bet if you got the hospital administrtor by the throat, and began to stop him from stealing oxygen, you'd get answers to this tragedy.
